F1: 3 Tips to Performing Well

Mattia d'Ambrosio from ADT here.

Today, I want to give you three invaluable tips that, if followed to the letter, will forever change the way you train on F1.

I'm sure you really want to make that step forward that will allow you to feel more confident, competitive, and happy as a driver.

For this reason, let's not beat around the bush and get straight to the point.

Here are three tips that you must follow to the letter to start improving in F1 from today:

1. Focus on What's Important

Invest your time in analyzing your DRIVING TECHNIQUE.

Observe your braking style, how you utilize the track, your racing lines, the way you angle the steering wheel, and analyze how you apply the throttle when exiting a turn.

Having done this, compare your driving style with that of the TOP Drivers.

Remember that driving techniques are crucial if you want to start shaving tenths off your lap times.

Don’t obsess over advanced settings, the gamepad, the steering wheel, the Sun, the Moon, or the stars.

WORK ON YOUR DRIVING TECHNIQUES.

2. Use the Prost Method

Thanks to our active collaboration with Luigi Mazzola, former track engineer for Prost and Schumacher, we have had the opportunity to thoroughly study the working method of the French champion.

Obviously, in this post, I will only tell you the main points; it would take an entire book to discuss his method in detail.

Prost, at the end of every driving session, always asked himself these three questions:

  1. What went well?
  2. What could have gone better?
  3. What went wrong?

By doing so, he focused day by day on the important aspects that needed improvement.

Start doing this too, and you will see that your approach to improving in F1 will change for the better.

3. Quality over Quantity

Improving in F1 is no child's play.

If it were easy, we’d all be at the level of esports drivers, don't you think?

Sure, F1 is not a simulator, and we all know this.

But to excel, you need to commit and put in the effort…

Having a good steering wheel is not enough, nor is having the best setup in the world.

You need to train a lot and do it especially following a very precise training plan.

It's useless to run like a hamster on a wheel in Time Trial if you don’t even know what you are working on.

Lap after lap… but what for?

Are you really improving your driving, or are you just clocking kilometers?

It’s not about HOW MUCH you train, but HOW you train.

For this reason, you need a system tailored to you, a program to follow from A to Z to perform targeted, precise, and effective training sessions.

And that’s what we do with our Academy drivers.

Our drivers do ONLY what they really need.

They train ONLY on what can make a real difference.

They save hours and hours of useless practice because they know exactly what to work on to lower their lap times.

And we're not just talking about the drivers who follow our most expensive and advanced paths: don't think you have to spend thousands of euros to see incredible improvements.

We're also talking about drivers who, with a more modest investment, have had exceptional results.

And they did it thanks to a well-structured training plan with ADT Tutors.

Now, if you've made it this far in the article, let me congratulate you.

You've shown that you're serious about improving.

So, the best thing you can do for yourself right now is to…
